Summer My Size Potty Lights and Songs: Tips for Success

Quick answer

The Summer My Size Potty Lights and Songs makes potty training engaging by rewarding your child with flashing lights and three different melodies when they flush. Focus on consistency, positive reinforcement, and easy cleaning to make the process smoother.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on the lights and songs?

Press the flush lever on the top of the potty. Each press cycles through a different melody, and the lights flash to the beat. The sounds are automatic and do not require batteries to be installed separately—check the battery compartment under the seat if the sounds stop working. Test the flush before first use to ensure batteries are installed and working.

Can I use this potty from the start of training?

Yes. The Summer My Size Potty is designed for toddlers who are ready to sit on a standalone potty. The lights and songs are most effective as an initial motivator. If your child becomes more interested in the sounds than the task, consider using the flush only as a reward after a successful attempt.

How do I clean the potty without damaging the electronics?

Remove the bowl and empty it into the toilet. Wash the bowl with warm soapy water. For the top section (with the flush mechanism), use a damp cloth and mild cleaner—never submerge it in water. Wipe the seat and flush lever regularly. The wipe compartment can be wiped out with a dry cloth. Keep the electronic top section dry to avoid damaging the lights and songs.

What if the songs stop playing or the lights don't flash?

First, check the battery compartment (usually under the seat or behind the flush button). Replace with fresh AA batteries if needed. If the problem persists, the unit may need a gentle cleaning around the flush mechanism—sometimes a bit of debris can block the contact. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Always use fresh batteries and clean the flush contact area if issues occur.

Is the potty stable for an active toddler?

The potty has a wide base and non-slip feet to prevent tipping. Still, supervise your child during use, especially if they tend to squirm or stand up quickly. The built-in splash guard helps reduce messes for boys.
